Joan Aymerich Casanoves began work on the AFA in Barcelona after creating the \"National Ruby\" car. He aimed to produce 100 cars annually, but only one or two vehicles were completed during the project. The AFA produced a 527 cc four-stroke engine with 13 horsepower. It was designed as a 5cv cabriolet and featured a manual transmission with four gears.
