Throughout the 1920s, Amilcar produced various models including the CC, C4, and CS, utilizing engines ranging from 903cc to 2150cc. In 1931, the business was acquired by \"Sofia,\" a company owned by André Briès and Marcel Sée. Production continued through the 1930s, facing financial difficulties until the introduction of the Pégase model in 1934. Later, Hotchkiss acquired a stake in \"Sofia,\" leading to the development of the Amilcar Compound, a front-wheel-drive vehicle with an aluminum monocoque frame. Production of the Compound began in 1937, but was halted in 1940 due to World War II.
