It began as a subsidiary of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) until 1909. Eduard Bierenz initiated the company’s operations, initially focusing on automobile sales before beginning manufacturing in Wiener-Neustadt. Paul Daimler, Gottlieb Daimler’s son, took over the Technical Department in 1902 and developed several models including an early automobile and armored car. Ferdinand Porsche succeeded Daimler as technical designer, pioneering aerodynamic techniques and designing vehicles like the Mercédès-Electrique-Mixte. Austro-Daimler gained independence from DMG in 1909 and produced vehicles such as the Prinz Heinrich. During World War I, it significantly contributed to wartime production and played a role in the Austro-Hungarian January Strike. After the war, the company continued to produce automobiles, including the ADM series, and was eventually merged with Steyr Automobile in 1934. In the 1970s and 80s, Steyr-Daimler-Puch produced bicycles under both brands. A new Austro Daimler vehicle was showcased in 2019, inspired by the 1931 Bergmeister.","https:\u002F\u002Fen.wikipedia.org\u002Fwiki\u002FAustro-Daimler",{"id":31,"type":32,"modified_on":33,"width":34,"height":34},"234e179d-a103-4075-9ad8-58e3fa8b2dc6","image\u002Fsvg+xml","2026-03-22T21:18:46.402Z",800,{"id":36,"type":32,"modified_on":37,"width":34,"height":34},"b1f6331e-cb1d-4b14-b391-7332be1b1720","2026-08-05T04:18:37.487Z",{"id":39,"name":40,"slug":41,"region":42,"latitude":43,"longitude":44,"flag":45},"758a7258-c405-49da-85a8-793ce715eff4","Austria","austria","europe",47.59397,14.12456,{"id":46,"type":32,"modified_on":47,"width":23,"height":23},"b45cf9ca-8cd9-40e3-a82b-b5937750e642","2025-05-15T20:23:22.049Z",[49,76],{"person_id":50},{"id":51,"name":52,"slug":53,"born":54,"deceased":55,"city":56,"region":23,"image":57,"country":62,"founded":69},"2675b23d-4833-4e12-9af3-347ac8a60ccf","Paul Daimler","paul-daimler","1869-09-13","1945-12-15","Karlsruhe",{"id":58,"type":59,"modified_on":60,"width":61,"height":61},"0215a1f2-7925-4f13-b3da-ebb68042a924","image\u002Fpng","2026-04-13T20:32:47.353Z",512,{"id":63,"name":64,"slug":65,"flag":66},"3f8fc2ad-c515-4198-a489-194f8586658c","Germany","germany",{"id":67,"type":32,"modified_on":68,"width":23,"height":23},"5acd062c-f615-42f2-b8be-1a89f3f18e45","2025-05-15T20:24:31.440Z",[70],{"make_id":71},{"id":11,"name":19,"slug":12,"founded":20,"defunct":21,"country":72,"emblem":74,"emblem_dark":75},{"id":39,"slug":41,"name":40,"flag":73},{"id":46,"type":32,"modified_on":47,"width":23,"height":23},{"id":31,"type":32,"modified_on":33,"width":34,"height":34},{"id":36,"type":32,"modified_on":37,"width":34,"height":34},{"person_id":77},{"id":78,"name":79,"slug":80,"born":81,"deceased":82,"city":22,"region":23,"image":23,"country":83,"founded":85},"d8ca218a-ee74-4c72-9b51-9ff0960321c1","Eduard Fischer","eduard-fischer","1868-11-26","1951-02-04",{"id":39,"name":40,"slug":41,"flag":84},{"id":46,"type":32,"modified_on":47,"width":23,"height":23},[86],{"make_id":87},{"id":11,"name":19,"slug":12,"founded":20,"defunct":21,"country":88,"emblem":90,"emblem_dark":91},{"id":39,"slug":41,"name":40,"flag":89},{"id":46,"type":32,"modified_on":47,"width":23,"height":23},{"id":31,"type":32,"modified_on":33,"width":34,"height":34},{"id":36,"type":32,"modified_on":37,"width":34,"height":34},[],[],[],[]]
