Daniel Campagna founded the company in Quebec and initially focused on developing off-road racers, including the Voodoo. In 1988, he created the first T-Rex prototype and hand-built a model for the 1994 Montreal Auto Show. From 1994 to 2000, the T-Rex was available only in Quebec. Beginning in the early 2000s, sales expanded globally, primarily to the United States. In 2008, T-REX Vehicles Inc. declared bankruptcy, and André Morissette and David Neault acquired the company, renaming it Campagna Motors. The company relocated its plant to Boucherville in 2009 and began producing two to three vehicles weekly. In 2008, the V13R was introduced as the Cirbin V-Rod. Since 2013, Campagna Motors has utilized a long-term agreement with the BMW Group to incorporate their engine. In 2018, an electric prototype based on the T-Rex was released.
