The company began as Commercial Cars Limited in 1905, initially producing a variety of vehicles including buses, charabancs, and industrial vehicles. By 1907, Commer exhibited innovative designs such as a motor-bus chassis with a unique dog clutch gearbox. Production began in 1907 with the 3-ton RC truck, which was later modernized into the SC and YC series. During World War I, Commer shifted its focus to manufacturing military vehicles for the British Army, producing over 3,000 by 1919. After a financial restructuring in 1920, Commer was acquired by Humber in 1926. Following the takeover by Chrysler Europe in 1967, Commer vehicles were rebranded as Dodges. Production continued under the Dodge name until 1963, when it was modernized as the ‘Dodge 400 series’. In 1978, Peugeot purchased Chrysler Europe and Commer’s factory was operated in partnership with Renault Trucks. The Commer name ceased to be used, and the Dodge commercial truck range continued under Renault badges until 1979. Commer also produced light commercial vehicles, including the Cob and Imp van, all derived from Hillman Minx saloon models. The company also designed and built its own diesel engines, notably the TS3, which was widely used in military vehicles and became known as the ‘Commer Knocker’ due to its distinctive sound. Production of Commer vehicles concluded in 1979.","https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commer
"f3fe910c-ef5c-444a-9d32-2640528f532d","image/png","2025-05-16T18:28:21.080Z",800
"b5cdbccf-0bae-4583-83be-50b19ffb2399","United Kingdom","united-kingdom","europe",54.7023545,-3.2765753
"7144a5be-6555-4971-8aef-3f82074ae6d3","image/svg+xml","2025-05-15T20:28:04.189Z",[],[57
"600d8b1c-1db9-47b1-97f9-8e1146cfd61a","Chrysler","chrysler",1925,42.6875323,-83.2341028
"45a47643-4c83-4b6b-b340-d3660615a7ef","2026-08-07T01:33:58.637Z
"dbc3b594-59ca-4560-908c-561ed3171206","2026-08-07T01:34:03.508Z
"606156d6-ab31-4e9d-9d11-ac5da1c7f505","United States","united-states","north_america",39.7837304,-100.445882
"88b9c260-8cc8-4632-bec8-8c9d3f3957ac","2025-05-15T20:28:10.101Z",[],[83
"f1fb6402-4256-4a2a-ac2c-ce4782a11d92","Dodge","dodge",1900
"82b92601-9662-4627-befd-79d8c6a5fca6","2026-08-05T17:23:00.188Z
[]]
