DeLorean, a former General Motors executive. Initial funding came from business loans and investments including those of Johnny Carson and Roy Clark, alongside government incentives to establish a manufacturing facility in Northern Ireland. DMC produced the stainless steel DeLorean sports car from 1981 to 1982. Construction began in 1978 at a factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland, designed by Brodie & Hawthorn Architects and built by Farrans, McLaughlin & Harvey. Production faced delays due to engineering issues and workforce inexperience, leading to the establishment of Quality Assurance Centers for post-production adjustments. The company’s operations were ultimately unsuccessful, leading to bankruptcy in 1982 and the closure of the factory. A separate DeLorean Motor Company (Texas) was founded in 1995, acquiring remaining inventory. The DeLorean gained significant cultural recognition through its appearance in the *Back to the Future* film trilogy.",null,"https:\u002F\u002Fen.wikipedia.org\u002Fwiki\u002FDeLorean_Motor_Company",{"id":32,"type":33,"modified_on":34,"width":35,"height":35},"6b4f2dd6-4c9b-43fc-8b85-9aa114a0d298","image\u002Fsvg+xml","2026-08-04T20:22:33.908Z",800,{"id":37,"type":33,"modified_on":38,"width":35,"height":35},"9eb72574-3fdf-4f7d-8f26-7eacf74db293","2026-08-04T20:22:42.885Z",{"id":40,"name":41,"slug":42,"region":43,"latitude":44,"longitude":45,"flag":46},"606156d6-ab31-4e9d-9d11-ac5da1c7f505","United States","united-states","north_america",39.7837304,-100.445882,{"id":47,"type":33,"modified_on":48,"width":29,"height":29},"88b9c260-8cc8-4632-bec8-8c9d3f3957ac","2025-05-15T20:28:10.101Z",[50],{"person_id":51},{"id":52,"name":53,"slug":54,"born":55,"deceased":56,"city":22,"region":23,"image":57,"country":62,"founded":64},"c307fb7b-cce3-4b4c-9651-80eafae1c491","John DeLorean","john-delorean","1925-01-06","2005-03-19",{"id":58,"type":59,"modified_on":60,"width":61,"height":61},"0ad019ff-3665-4d65-8efb-b3585aec44f9","image\u002Fpng","2026-03-23T22:16:32.472Z",512,{"id":40,"name":41,"slug":42,"flag":63},{"id":47,"type":33,"modified_on":48,"width":29,"height":29},[65,66],{"make_id":29},{"make_id":67},{"id":11,"name":19,"slug":12,"founded":20,"defunct":21,"country":68,"emblem":70,"emblem_dark":71},{"id":40,"slug":42,"name":41,"flag":69},{"id":47,"type":33,"modified_on":48,"width":29,"height":29},{"id":32,"type":33,"modified_on":34,"width":35,"height":35},{"id":37,"type":33,"modified_on":38,"width":35,"height":35},[],[],[],[]]
