Beginning in the 1920s, Ferreirinha worked with his brother at a shop that modified Ford vehicles for racing. They developed parts such as the \"Ferreirinha Pistons\" and created race cars like the \"Ferreirinha Especial.\" In 1936, Ferreirinha designed and built a race car using a Ford V8 engine. Three of these cars were produced, raced by Ferreirinha and others, and placed successfully in national and international events. The brand name EDFOR is derived from Eduardo and Jorge Ferreirinha. The first public mention of the Edfor appeared in 1937, describing it as a car built with new parts and hand-built by Portuguese workers. Only four Edfor vehicles were constructed, with two being registered. The last race featuring an Edfor occurred in 1952. In 2006, a film documenting the creation of Edfor was rediscovered and displayed at an exhibition.
