The company began as a product of the Ateliers Piedboeuf in Liège, with initial designs by Paul Henze. Early models included four-cylinder engines of various capacities. In 1928, the company moved its factory to Nessonvaux and began production in the old Pieper factory. From 1916, Impéria produced Abadals under license. In 1921, the Nessonvaux factory began building three-cylinder, overhead cam engines. A six-cylinder engine appeared in 1927 and was offered as a Super Sports model. Louis de Monge joined the company in 1925 and contributed to research, including torsion bar suspension. Impéria acquired three other Belgian car manufacturers between 1927 and 1931. From 1934 to 1948, the company primarily produced front-wheel-drive Adlers with Belgian coachwork. In 1934, Impéria merged with Minerva and later separated in 1939. Production continued in Great Britain, assembling Standard Vanguards and a unique convertible model. The company’s final model, the TA-8, was produced from 1947 to 1949.
