He began his automotive career in 1891 with the design and testing of a gasoline-powered runabout. The company produced a range of vehicles, including automobiles, auto fire engines, trucks, gasoline engines and Steel-hoof farm tractors. Lambert’s first successful automobile model was the Union, released in 1902. The company produced its first Lambert automobile in 1906 and achieved peak production levels between 1907 and 1910, averaging 2,000 cars annually.
