The project began in 1966, with Henri Szykowski as his manager and utilizing a factory previously owned by Tastevin's father, Compagnie française de produits métallurgiques (CFPM). Initial designs were influenced by Tastevin's passion for cars, including Aston Martin and Facel Vega vehicles. The first prototype was built with a chassis constructed from steel tubes and aluminum panels, utilizing a De Dion rear suspension and a LawrenceTune\u002FStandard-Triumph engine. Later prototypes involved collaboration with Williams & Pritchard, who produced the bodywork, and eventually, Carrozzeria Alfredo Vignale in Turin. The project faced numerous challenges including engine issues and design disagreements, with Conrero attempting to discredit the Martin V8. Ultimately, production was contracted out to various firms including Airflow Streamline and Coventry Victor, with the final Monica produced by LawrenceTune Engines in England. The car's design evolved through several iterations, with Rascanu’s initial sketches and later refinements by David Coward.","https:\u002F\u002Fen.wikipedia.org\u002Fwiki\u002FMonica_(automobile)",{"id":23,"type":24,"modified_on":25,"width":26,"height":26},"2f0e185e-f2e2-4aec-acef-98c95b07c960","image\u002Fsvg+xml","2026-03-22T21:54:08.470Z",800,{"id":28,"type":24,"modified_on":29,"width":26,"height":26},"1a2aea51-0c43-44e1-ba9b-7290a9e6e581","2026-08-05T05:55:19.103Z",{"id":31,"name":32,"slug":33,"region":34,"latitude":35,"longitude":36,"flag":37},"19aea675-c2bf-488a-bb7e-019068edb7a6","France","france","europe",46.603354,1.8883335,{"id":38,"type":24,"modified_on":39,"width":17,"height":17},"a75e7d8f-5fe3-4cca-b8ae-92127e7d576b","2025-05-15T20:24:26.246Z",[41],{"person_id":42},{"id":43,"name":44,"slug":45,"born":46,"deceased":47,"city":16,"region":17,"image":48,"country":53,"founded":55},"af98ca18-17ad-4a28-b7ff-d44264304018","Jean Tastevin","jean-tastevin","1919-01-01","2016-01-01",{"id":49,"type":50,"modified_on":51,"width":52,"height":52},"6a746b01-cd5b-4757-ab6d-ebb744264527","image\u002Fpng","2026-03-23T22:15:09.412Z",512,{"id":31,"name":32,"slug":33,"flag":54},{"id":38,"type":24,"modified_on":39,"width":17,"height":17},[56],{"make_id":57},{"id":11,"name":13,"slug":12,"founded":14,"defunct":15,"country":58,"emblem":60,"emblem_dark":61},{"id":31,"slug":33,"name":32,"flag":59},{"id":38,"type":24,"modified_on":39,"width":17,"height":17},{"id":23,"type":24,"modified_on":25,"width":26,"height":26},{"id":28,"type":24,"modified_on":29,"width":26,"height":26},[],[],[],[]]
