Founded in 1939 from the acquisition of Fageol Truck and Motor Company, Peterbilt initially focused on providing specialized trucks for the Pacific Northwest logging industry. The company developed and built heavy-duty (Class 8) and medium-duty (Classes 5–7) commercial vehicles, initially designing chain-drive trucks for logging applications. By 1953, Peterbilt established its iconic red oval emblem and began using a bird-style hood ornament on conventional cabs. From 1958, Peterbilt operated as a division of PACCAR. Throughout the mid-20th century, Peterbilt introduced various models like the 280/350 and later the 358/359, adapting to changing market demands and incorporating innovations such as tilting cabs and aluminum construction. In 1972, the Newark facility closed, consolidating production in Denton, Texas. Peterbilt continued to evolve its product line throughout the 1980s, introducing new models like the 377 and 379 while expanding into the medium-duty market.","https://www.peterbilt.com/","https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peterbilt","https://www.facebook.com/PeterbiltMotors/","https://www.instagram.com/peterbiltmotors/","https://www.youtube.com/@PeterbiltMotorsCompany","https://x.com/PeterbiltMotors","https://www.linkedin.com/company/peterbilt-motors-company/
"f8949335-833d-497a-ae91-8a39eefd7ce9","image/png","2025-05-16T22:02:49.183Z",800
"606156d6-ab31-4e9d-9d11-ac5da1c7f505","United States","united-states","north_america",39.7837304,-100.445882
"88b9c260-8cc8-4632-bec8-8c9d3f3957ac","image/svg+xml","2025-05-15T20:28:10.101Z",[45
"bd3ff91b-438c-4299-a55c-b9c911f6142b","Theodore Alfred Peterman","theodore-alfred-peterman","1893-03-22","1944-11-16","Tacoma","Washington
"8caf4129-d426-4b2f-8419-bc69fabc8ddc","2026-04-14T01:05:33.924Z",512
[61
[],[],[],[]]
