Brothers Charles R., J. E., and Bert Lambert, along with Fred W. Haines, formed the company. Paul Arthur designed the automobiles, which were medium-sized and priced competitively. Regal produced its own four-cylinder engines and sourced bodies from Fisher coachworks in Detroit. In 1909 and 1910, a factory stock 30-hp Regal traveled across the country twice. The company exported vehicles to Britain starting in 1911, where they were rebranded as RMC and Seabrook-RMC.  A Canadian operation was established in 1914, with the first Canadian factory equipped with a test track and facilities for workers. Production of Regal automobiles continued until 1918, when the Detroit factory closed due to wartime material shortages.
