The company explored aero engine production in 1909 and introduced a range of smaller cars, including the LA3, LA4, LA5, and LA6. By 1911, the LA7 was introduced, becoming Sheffield-Simplex’s only British rival to Rolls-Royce. During World War I, the company manufactured armored cars and aircraft engines for various armies. In 1920, a new model, the 50 hp, was produced and exhibited. A commercial omnibus called the Shefflex was also developed in 1922, with rail-mounted versions delivered to a railway company.
