In 2005, Troller expanded its operations by opening a manufacturing plant in Angola to serve the African market. In January 2007, Ford do Brasil acquired Troller for R$400 million. The Troller T4 was used in rally races, including the Dakar Rally. A redesign of the T4 occurred in 2014. Production at the Horizonte plant ceased by the end of 2021, following Ford’s decision to discontinue operations in Brazil.
