Initially, the company re-built pre-war BMW 328 vehicles using customer-supplied components. The first Veritas car, built in 1947, was used by Karl Kling to win the German 2-litre championship. The company relocated its operations several times, including to Meßkirch and Muggensturm, and eventually to the Nürburgring. In 1949, Veritas began producing road cars such as the Komet, Saturn and Scorpion. Later, the company produced bodies for Panhard vehicles.\n\nFrom 1950 to 1952, Veritas operated at the Nürburgring. Automobilwerke Ernst Loof GmbH produced new cars with Heinkel engines and coachwork by Spohn. These vehicles used Ford or Opel engines. A small company, VerMot AG, revived the Veritas name in 2001 and produced a concept car, the RS III.
