Production ceased in 2012, with the last vehicle assembled in 2012 and the factory liquidated by 2020. Currently, ZiL operates as a real estate development company on its former Moscow site. The factory received numerous awards during its operation, including the Order of Lenin and the Order of the October Revolution.
