After World War II, Zündapp shifted to smaller machines like the ‘Bella’ motor scooter and the KS601. The company moved its production to Munich in 1958, focusing on two-stroke engines. Zündapp achieved success in off-road motorsports and later produced electric mopeds. In 1984, the company went bankrupt due to new legislation limiting the speed of small motorcycles. Following its bankruptcy, production rights were acquired by Xunda Motor Co., Tianjin, China, which produced Zündapp motorcycles until the early 1990s.
