George Walker Bush served as the 43rd president of the United States, succeeding Bill Clinton in 2001. Prior to his presidency, he was the governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000 and a military officer. He is the son of George H. W. Bush, who also served as president. Bush has also pursued interests in painting and rugby union.
