James Douglas Muir Leno is an American television host, comedian, and writer. He gained prominence through years of stand-up comedy before becoming the host of The Tonight Show in 1992, succeeding Johnny Carson. Following a period hosting primetime shows, Leno returned to The Tonight Show in 2010 and hosted it until 2014, later hosting Jay Leno's Garage and You Bet Your Life. He was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2014.
